D42 (Digital→Analog Converter)
The DRA KIT has also evolved, moving into a black walnut case under the name D42. It has inherited the Bluetooth module, DAC chips, and their analog filter circuits from its bigger sibling. Thanks to this, it can serve as an excellent player when streaming from a high-quality source (e.g., an iPad). Naturally, it also features traditional coaxial digital inputs.
Features:
Selected AD1860-K converters, true multibit R2R (18-bit) technology
Two SPDIF inputs, with RCA or BNC connectors, which can be combined
Lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePo4) batteries minimize noise with extremely low internal impedance
6-8 hours of operating time, continuous with a charger
It supports signals with a sampling frequency of 192 kHz, but 176.4 kHz only via the I2S input
Low-jitter discrete channel matching logic
Current-to-voltage conversion is done passively using a resistor and voltage amplifier stage
Output voltage: 2V; 0.002% THD+noise
